MK Stalin shares meal with frontline workers, praises their rain relief efforts

With days of continuous rain and the city bracing for more, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin dined with frontline workers as a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated service during and after the recent monsoon rains that affected the city.
Following visits to various relief sites and medical camps set up as precautionary measures, Stalin expressed gratitude for the efforts of the frontline workers.
The meal was held at Thiruvalluvar Wedding Hall, where Stalin joined the workers to enjoy a feast that included biryani, Chicken 65, and fish fry.
He assured the citizens that the Tamil Nadu government is well-equipped to handle any weather challenges.
Addressing criticisms from Opposition leader Edappadi K. Palanisamy, who pointed out water stagnation in areas like Royapuram, RK Nagar, and Velachery, CM Stalin stated, “He is only trying to politicise. People know what work was done. I don’t need to reply to him. I’m not worried about negative comments. People are happy and they have spoken about it.”
He further noted that water levels have receded significantly across the city, assuring that any missed areas will be addressed promptly.
Stalin thanked the frontline workers and Corporation officials for their swift actions in restoring the city, emphasising their role in supporting the community during difficult times.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a ‘red alert’ warning for three districts—Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, and Tirunelveli—along with an orange alert for Ramanathapuram on Thursday, October 17.
